Cancer is not a subject we like to talk about, yet sooner or later most of us are forced to discuss the Big C when a loved one or oneself is afflicted by it.
The GOOD news is that cancer is not that deadly, monstrous disease that randomly kills and destroys peoples’ lives while they suffer helplessly through horrendous regimes of chemical treatment.
It has been known for years that stress, acidity (pH) and poor eating/lifestyle habits are the most common causes/contributing factors to developing any form of cancer as they break down the body’s immune system and thereby create a fertile environment for infections and other diseases to take over.
Today, thanks to the internet and freedom of speech, there is a magnitude of information available about preventative measures that everyone can take to boost the immune system and thus help to combat cancer – and other common illnesses.
Nevertheless, cancer is still causing havoc across the globe and this is where the Cancer Association of South Africa plays such an important role to educate, assist and provide facilities and numerous services for cancer patients and their loved ones.
The West Coast branch of Cansa’s TOKTOKKIE fundraising campaign recruited two well-known Weskussers to assist in this plight. Michelle van der Westhuizen of Langebaan has been appointed as the Chief Toktokkie for the West Coast Region 2 (from Dwarskersbos to Vredenburg) and Lizelle Strydom of Hopefield is the new Toktokkie in that area. They need your help, ideas and assistance to make the West Coast FREE of the Big C . . . and the Big SEA is already one way to help!
Read what they have to say underneath:
* Last year, more than 26 545 people along this region were reached with educational / preventative talks;
* 3 179 people received free cancer screening tests;
* 5 Cansa rooms have been established at old age homes and hospitals to provide care and accommodation for terminal patients;
* Thousands of people were also reached by various displays, educational pamphlets and informative posters.
Elke sent sal help.
NB.
Dankie by voorbaat
Weskusgroete ”
